Planel junior was an exceptionally accomplished musician， reflected in his composition， RomanticSuite for alto saxophone and piano. The sixth movement of Romantic Suite， Sad Song is a sublime， legato piece for intermediate level saxophonists. With a typical performance lasting about three minutes， Planel’s Sad Songaddresses a wide range， chromaticism， dotted rhythms， dynamics， tempo changes， key changes and variety in performance directions.
