| 解説 | フランスの作曲家カミーユ・サン＝サーンスによって1874年に作曲された交響詩です。ト短調で書かれています。もともとは1872年に声楽とピアノのためのアート・ソングとして作られ、古いフランスの迷信に基づいた内容でした。伝説によると、「死」は毎年ハロウィンの真夜中に現れ、墓から死者を呼び起こして、自らの奏でるフィドル（作中では独奏ヴァイオリン）に合わせて踊らせます。骸骨たちは踊った後、再び墓へ戻り、次の年まで眠りにつくのです。 （出版社のオリジナル解説） Danse macabre is a tone poem for orchestra， written in 1874 by the French composer Camille Saint-Sa ns. It is in the key of G minor. It started out in 1872 as an art song for voice and piano with a French， which is based on an old French superstition. According to legend， ”Death” appears at midnight every year on Halloween. Death calls forth the dead from their graves to dance for him while he plays his fiddle (here represented by a solo violin). His skeletons dance for him， when they must return to their graves until the next year. |
