| 解説 | 作曲者は日本の作曲家・ピアニストである西邑由記子です。京都出身で東京藝術大学卒業後アメリカでも研鑽を積み、吹奏楽や室内楽など幅広い作品を手がけています。「ゴールデン・エイジ」は輝かしい時代や希望に満ちた未来をイメージした華やかな作品です。明るく推進力のあるリズムと色彩豊かな和声が特徴で、各楽器が生き生きと絡み合いながら発展していきます。全体として前向きでエネルギーに満ちたコンサートの幕開けにも適した祝祭的な楽曲です。 (出版社のオリジナル解説） This piece was a commissioning piece to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Santa Monica College’s Emeritus program. When I first heard the piece’s title the college gave me， I felt that the music should be somewhat heavy and strict overall， which is quite far from my favorite image. But while I was drafting the piece， the idea came to me that the music should focus on their bright future， so the color of the music should be bright， broad， mature， and gentle. This was the concept of the music. I included three sections in this piece. The first section is “Rising，” which tells about the school’s history determinedly; the second is “Brilliance，” which is about growing ahead of the future using vivid color， rhythmic passages， and lots of percussion sounds. The finale is “Chorale，” which expresses everyone’s hope. The thick harmony sounds like a pipe organ till the end. |
